Lynn Marie Back is a contemporary artist, teacher, author living and creating on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, where her children and grandchildren also call home. Deeply connected to both family and community, Lynn has spent the past 25 years as a Visual Art teacher, teaching in schools across the Sunshine Coast and nurturing creativity in generations of young people.

Her life in art has always been intertwined with her life of faith. Lynn’s paintings flow from prayer, reflection, and an intentional practice of listening — not only to the beauty of the natural world around her, but to the gentle voice of God that she believes speaks to every heart. Through symbolic imagery — eagles, brides, flowers, waves, wildlife — her work carries themes of identity, resilience, courage, belonging, and divine purpose.

Beyond the classroom and the canvas, Lynn teaches people how to hear God’s voice in simple, accessible ways. She paints live at events and runs art workshops and creative gatherings where participants are encouraged to slow down, listen, and discover that hearing from God is not complicated or reserved for a few — but something deeply personal and available to all. Her heart is to demystify the spiritual journey and help people realise that God speaks gently, lovingly, and often in ways that are woven into everyday life.

At the centre of everything Lynn creates is a simple but profound belief: that God is our Creator, that He loves us completely, and that He desires a personal relationship with each of us. Her art is an invitation — to pause, to breathe, to look deeper, and to consider that we are known, seen, and cherished.
