Dressed in battle gear the Centurion knew his identity and his authority. His helmet and his breastplate were a part of who he was, as this was the indicator to everyone of his definitive authority and power. He knew Jesus’ authority and power when he asked Jesus to heal his son. He said, ‘just say the word and he will be healed’.
